Google Currents Goes International

In December 2011 Google released Google Currents for Android and iOS in the United States.  This app let users explore online magazines and other user generated content.

Since the release users have requested that the app be made available internationally and that the speed of updating increases.

From today, Google have released version 1.1 of currents which not only brings the desired speed increase but also enables international publishers to begin adding content using Google Currents Producer.

Content currently includes The Guardian Newspaper, LaStampa in Italy, Financial Times Deutschland in Germany, ABC Newsin Australia, Neue Zürcher Zeitung in Switzerland and Hindustan Times in India.

Google translate has also been integrated into Google currents which means that any content can be translated into one of the 38 supported languages at the press of a button.

Google Currents is now available for download on Google Play and in the Apple App Store, wherever apps are available.
