MWC – Huawei Ascend D – Up close

This is the Ascend D1 – not to be confused with it’s more powerful brother, the D quad. This, if we’re honest, is pretty much exactly the same in every way but with a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU instead of the quad-core unit in the D quad. Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich / ICS) is there, as is the Huawei earSmart technology which lets you hear calls better in noisy environments and for other to hear you more clearly.

Powered by a 1670mAh battery it has Dolby Mobile DM3+, and 8 megapixel BSI camera and flash at the back, a 1.3 megapixel camera at the front and 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot. The usual WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth stuff is of course on board.

We gave it a quick spin and snapped some photos for you to enjoy.
