Christmas has come slightly early for Android bargain hunters. Carphoneware are currently selling Samsung’s first Nexus device sim free for £199.95. For that you’ll get a handset with a 1Ghz hummingbird processor, 4″ Super AMOLED display, 16GB of inbuilt memory and, most importantly, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
It doesn’t have the power of a Galaxy S2 but for the price it should give you more than adequate performance and the latest version of Android without the need to root or flash. I’ve put my money where my mouth is and grabbed one already. Be quick as I don’t think they’ll last long.
