OK, this tablet was kicking around the recent Gadget Show exhibition in Birmingham. It’s the ViewQuest 8″ Android Slate and costs less than £200. Actually a lot less, you can get it for £154 on Amazone.
This, unfortunately, is the best image we have. There’s even a 5″ version that’s even cheaper. We can’t find a great deal of information about the device or the company that makes it. Inside there’s a Rockchip 2080 Dual-core 600MHz CPU, an 8″ 800×600 pixel screen (which probably isn’t capacitive) and 2GB of on-board storage with microSD expansion. WiFi will get you on the web and an old version of Android (probably 1.5) powers the show. Oh, and you can grab this one for £125.
