Orange Accessories have a great deal on the “Orange HomePlug dLAN Starter Kit”. It’s just £30 and for your money you can instantly turn your home power circuit into an ethernet network. Plug an ethernet cable from your router into one HomePlug, then take the other plug to the desired location and plug your laptop or PC into the other plug. Bingo, you’ve got up 85 Mbps over your power supply.
This is ideal if your WiFi connection isn’t strong enough or doesn’t go far enough – just stick an access point on the remote end and you can beam your WiFi further. We’ve spotted it for £30 for the pair from Orange Accessories but you may find it even cheaper on eBay.
