For those lucky owners of a HTC Hero there’s now the HTC updated ROM available to download at MoDaCo. To install this Generic HTC ROM (version 2.73.405.5) you’ll need to stick the recovery image on, copy the updated ZIP file to your SD card and then reboot to install it.
The HTC generic one is for devices bought through HTC channels (such as devicewire) and we presume that the slightly-more-official way of getting the update will appear on the HTC Support Site soon enough.
