We’re seeing plenty of last-tweaks to WinMo 6.5 ahead of it’s appearance sometime in October. However, most attention is still on Windows Mobile 7, which promises to bring quite substantial changes across the platform.
Digitimes has today stated that 6.5 will get an update sometime in February to improve the touch interface and, as we reported earlier, Microsoft will lower the cost of the OS and run it alongside 7 – possibly on “cheaper” handsets. The 6.5 devices will be aimed at competing with Android handsets, whilst 7 will target iPhones apparently.
The story also states that Windows Mobile 7 won’t appear until the fourth quarter of 2010 – more than a year away. Yes, more than a year away. Thoughts?
