Single charging connector agreed

Single charging connector agreed The GSM association has sat down and agreed that having several different chargers is a nightmare for the consumer. Mobile phones today generally have many different plugs and adapters to charge mobile phones. The decision means that firms like Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, T-Mobile, Orange and others will commit to supporting an energy efficient charge which uses one single interface.

The chosen interface? Well, unfortunately it’s NOT the miniUSB interface (shown here on the left) that most Windows Mobile handsets use. Instead it’s the microUSB connector, shown on the right.
