HTC Iolite enters a phone box, emerges as the Touch Cruise

HTC Iolite enters a phone box, emerges as the Touch Cruise Well, it was hardly a secret was it ? The HTC Iolite is now officially splashed all over the HTC website. As we suspected it’s the replacement / update for the original HTC Touch Cruise, so they’ve branded as the.. err… HTC Touch Cruise ’09.

The new model packs everything we told you about, including the new geo-tagging in the shape of HTC Footprints. The website claims that….

“The best part about HTC Footprints is that you can use them to find your way back to the hidden little café you visited last year, or the elm tree under which your loved one popped the big question. And if you want, you can simply flip through your collection and laugh about the times that helped create who you are today. HTC Footprints is like a journal of your life’s highlights, making them always within your reach.”

Running a 528Mhz Qualcomm MSM7225 CPU it has Windows Mobile 6.1 under the hood and 512MB ROM / 256MB RAM, QVGA screen and a 3.2 megapixel camera. You also get quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE along with dualband 3G / HSDPA, WiFi and that aGPS for navigation.

As we mentioned earlier this is also coming to o2 Germany as the “Guide” in February. Get more details on the o2 site.
