Samsung Omnia marketing kicks into overdrive

Samsung Omnia marketing kicks into overdrive Today I got dragged kicking and screaming popped into our second city to do a spot of early Christmas shopping. During our day in Birmingham I’ve seen about a dozen adverts for just one handset – the Samsung Omnia. It’s everywhere. In the Bullring, outside the Bullring, on billboards, in magazines and inside nearly every in-store phone catalogue.

Don’t believe me? Well, I grabbed a few catalogues and you can check out the scans below. This is a pretty big marketing campaign and is being pushed heavily… oh if only Samsung would send us one to review…

Oh, and I also spotted a rather collosal advert for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 across the M6 at Junction 9. Sadly it looks like that’s about as close as I’m getting to that too (come on Sony, I can do a review in a week). 😉

First up, the Vodafone “Autumn” catalogue. Have a look in your local store and you’ll find, there on the front cover, the Samsung Omnia. If you somehow missed it on the front then don’t worry, because there’s around 5 pictures of it throughout the catalogue including a double-page feature!

Inside you’ll find details and pricing for the handset…

..plus a double-page spread (I’ve only got the left page here). The article tells how the handset will let you “Play Harder” and “Work Smarter” with mobile TV, Facebook, YouTube mentioned along with the GPS features..

Also within the Vodafone catalogue is this advert…

This advert is the same one I’ve seen around Birmingham. Sure, there’s a few subtle changes but there’s an obvious big push from Samsung on this handset. Here’s the advert in the T-Mobile catalogue…

It’s also mentioned in the Orange catalogue and you’ll find it in a fairly prominent spot within most shops.
