HTC Shift takes a step closer

HTC Shift takes a step closer I was lucky enough to review the HTC Shift some months back and even tried it out at my local pub. “Yes, yes”, I hear you cry, “that’s all well and good, but it’s still not available to buy is it?” Well, no.. Not yet, but there’s some promising signs of progress. The FCC have now shown pictures of a device named the “HTC Clio 100” and “HTC Clio 200”, which seems to be the HTC Shift in it’s GSM (Clio 100) and CDMA (Clio 200) clothes. The good news is that it’s passed the FCC tests and should be on its’ way to a store near you soon enough.

The UMPC is powered by an Intel 800MHz and has 1 Gb of RAM to power Windows Vista Business (which it did surprisingly well in our review), integrated GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, VGA Out, 800×480 screen and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband HSDPA/3G on the GSM version with CDMA2000 1xEVDO on the CDMA version.

Don’t forget to sign up to be informed when the HTC Shift arrives.
