3GSM: Toshiba Portégé G500 Announced

3GSM: Toshiba Portégé G500 Announced Toshiba have now officially announced their two new Windows Mobile handsets. The first one is called the Toshiba Portégé G500 and has a slide-down numeric keypad. Toshiba have crammed in stacks of goodies including fingerprint technology to protect the data stored on the handset. Runing Windows Mobile 5 it’s a triband handset with HSDPA, 3G, EDGE, Bluetooth and WiFi on board. There’s USB connectivity for your PC and double cameras – a 2 megapixel camera at the rear and a secondary camera for video calls. The Portégé also gets VoIP (Voice Over IP) Support, 64MB of internal memory and miniSD card slot.

This is a good looking handset which will no doubt attract buyers. The G500 will be the first to hit the shops, hopefully sometime this spring, although there’s no news on which operator will pick it up as yet. It may get sold directly (“off network”), which would be a bit of a shame as we think it looks rather cool and deserves a wider audience. Thoughts?
