A lot of people will have seen the HTC Universal. It’s available as the Orange SPV M5000 and the o2 XDA Exec, however HTC plan to shrink it down to look a bit like our artists impression. The resulting smaller device will be called the HTC Omni – a device we heard about last month. The guys at solopalmari.com have managed to grab details on the Omni – including news of stonking 800×480 pixel internal screen and a possible outer screen (something existing Universal owners will no doubt love).
Rumours suggest a swift Samsung SC244X CPU running at 400 MHz with 256Mb ROM / 128Mb RAM, Wireless 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth. There’s also GPRS/EDGE/UMTS (3G) and HSDPA connectivity and a QWERTY keyboard.
