Over at MSMobiles.com there’s a short about a freeware open source app. This utility finds your position by determining the nearest broadcasting cell. More info on Celtrack.SPV-Developers.com.
So far there’s only support for the Typhoon smartphone versions. But this could grow out to be a killer app.
I couldn’t get it working on my C500 as it seems to require some additional system privileges, however this has promise.
It’s worth keeping an eye on SPV-Developers.com if you’re interested in coding / beta testing for the Smartphone.
