2003 showed a huge growth in the amount of mobile phones sold. Market viewers IDC reckon that 533.4 million handsets were bought last year, which is an increase of 23.3 per cent from 2002.
Smartphones, although not necessarily MS-based, had the strongest growth. Sales of Smartphones increased 181.6 per cent, however only 1.8 per cent of phone sales are Smartphones. 🙁
Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola etc still dominate the top spots.
