After yet more reports of exploding batteries on Nokia mobile phones, with Nokia saying, “Nuffin to do with us, it’s your dodgy third-party batteries”. Belgian consumer watchdog “Test-Aankoop”, reckons that’s not strictly true. Some of Nokia’s own batteries – particularly the Nokia BML-3, BMC-3 and BLC-2, are just as unprotected against short-circuiting as the third-party batteries.
In this register article Nokia responds by saying that these claims are “false”. They say that all Nokia batteries are designed and manufactured adhering to stringent safety and quality measures.
