Compal to produce another MS Smartphone! DigiTimes.com reports today that Compal Communications – who produced the developer Smartphones and early MS Smartphone handsets in the US (including the Red-e phone) are now due to mass produce second smartphone in the third quarter of 2004.

Company president Henry Lee, said in a statement to reporters that the phone will be clamshell in design (like the Motorola MPx200) and will be code-named the AR22. It will use the Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Operating System and will run a Texas Instruments (TI) OMAP 730 processor. A built-in digital camera will also feature.

It wasn’t clear whether this handset would have bluetooth, but if they do decide to put that on, then this handset will sell and sell.

Compal already make handsets for big names like Motorola and Panasonic. Their previous MS Smartphone, the AR11, can be seen at the bottom of this page and on the right here.
