A number of users are reporting shorter battery life after applying the new update to the iPhone 5.

Apple released iOS 6.0.2 to the public on Tuesday, the update was to correct Wi-Fi issues on the new iPhone and iPad mini. Since its release, a number of users have reported issues regarding their battery life but this seems to only be affecting the iPhone 5 and not the iPad Mini. See the thread on Apple Support Forums

Got an iPhone 5? Have you applied the update and noticed a difference with battery drain? Let us know.

A smartphone has a bug shock horror. I think that all handsets have bugs and its not just brand related. My Sii has an awful wifi and media one which kills the battery quickly.

Is it the hardware – may be – is it an OS problem – may be but either way ( and no matter the brand ) I think all OEMs need to get a grip of quality testing and not a) leave it the the last min or b) not do enough. I’m pretty sure this is a cost thing end of the day how ever if done right and using lessons learnt no reason OEMs cant identify problems and role out upgrades and fixes quicker than they do now… ( this is excludes the carriers who are just awful in these areas ).
