Coolsmartphone Xmas Gift Guide – Part 4

Some of the other writers are probably going to suggest something flashy, or at the least something you’ll be able to show off to your friends… But my recommendation for the one you love is proof that good things come in small packages.

Since most still take micro SD card, that would be my choice of a gift that’ll keep on giving. There are two areas where having that extra on-phone space really helps: 1. When you want more apps than your storage space provides. It happens a lot, and especially when you’ve got a couple of movies, half your itunes or media player library and the tons and tons of apps you’ve downloaded over time. All of that can start to eat into your available space and all of a sudden you have to choose just one twitter app, and restrict your media player programs… It just doesn’t have to happen with a little bit more memory.
2. The above-mentioned media storage. Yes, you can use cloud services, but what with the phone being a mobile phone, sometimes you have to be that little bit mobile and rely on your cellular connection instead of wi-fi. Sure Google Music, last.fm or Spotify can stream as much as you want, but when you’re on a tube or want to listen to the complete discography of Pink Floyd you bought the other week which didn’t fit on the phone, that’s the time you know you should have bought a more spacious card.

Do your phone a favour.

Do your ears a favour and allow them to hear a variety of your tunes.

If your phone allows it, get a decent-sized micro SD card. Your handset could have a new lease of life.

This one at Amazon is currently £40 for 64Gb, or just under £19 for 32Gb and yes, for the sake of a couple of quid, get a branded one. Make sure its at least class 10.
