Microsoft’s resident megaphone has been spouting again, this time to the annual shareholders meeting, where the larger than life CEO announced that Windows Phone sales are up 300% from last year.
That sounds a good tag line, but as Microsoft never announced any sales figures for Windows Phone 7, that doesn’t actually tell us much. In fact although there’s lots of positive spin from Mr Ballmer, all Microsoft have actually admitted about sales is that both Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8 have not met their expectations – whatever they were!
Still its good to here that sales are up – we would genuinely like to see Windows Phone 8 do well and be the “3rd platform”, as some of us rather like it. It does seem an uphill task though…
