A few weeks back the guys from Bye Bye Standby emailed in to say, "Hey, check out our Online Controller, it'll let you control your electrical devices using your mobile phone". Well, who are we to say no?
There's two parts to this solution - some clever electrical plug-in sockets that'll let you turn your appliances on and off using a remote control, plus the online controller to let you do the same thing from anywhere in the world. It's a pretty cool way to let you turn lights, TV's, radios, PC's or any electrical item on or off from your Windows Mobile phone. Not only is it clever, but it'll help to reduce your electricity bill with automated actions and a whole lot more. The full review includes photos and several videos of the setup and the system in action.
