3GSM - Orange Launch the SPV M600
15 Feb 2006 - Handsets - HTC (Windows) - By Leigh Geary

Here it is kids, the Orange SPV M600 ala the HTC Prophet we mentioned earlier. It's just been announced at 3GSM and it'll run on Windows Mobile 5.0 with push-email. It will be available initially from Orange in the UK, France and the Netherlands and is kitted out with EDGE (ideal for that new UK EDGE network), 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and a corking 2 Megapixel camera.

The screen is a high quality 240x320-pixel jobby and there's 128MB Flash ROM (64MB RAM) on board. Orange reckon that the standby time will be 180 hours (7 and a half days) and a talk time of 300 minutes.

At present there's no set release date. We're guessing some time in the Spring / Summer.

UPDATE - Hi-res photos of this device are available below plus comments from HTC Europe. Full press release now available below.

HTC say of the new Orange SPV M600...

"We are delighted to work with Orange as our key launch partner for the latest version of our successful compact PDA platform.

In our experience a product with this level of style and muscle always makes an impact. Throw in the fact that businesses can synch this device to their Microsoft servers for true push e-mail and Orange, and their customers, will be more than happy."

The Vice President of Orange Group Devices, Yves Maitre said..

"Partnering with HTC has allowed us to provide our customers with handsets that offer PDA functionality with the mass market appeal of Microsoft e-mail synchronisation.

If you’re tired of lugging around a bag full of gizmos, the Orange SPV M600 is the phone for you. It’s a phone, a PDA, a camera, a digital music player."
