Do you REALLY know where those mobile masts are?
03 Feb 2006 - General Mobile News - By Leigh Geary

When you read stories of mobile phone masts being pulled down by concerned local residents it is usually due to the fact that they're fairly big, fairly visible and right next to a school or local houses. Some may question the anger. I myself remember when a large mobile network asked my school whether they could put transmitters on the cooling tower. The reaction was mixed, however when work was complete no-one complained after we got a very nice new computer suite and a whole new computer network with the money. I do remember having a lot of headaches as a kid though ;) The second reason is the fact that it's now becoming more and more difficult to see the transmitters. See this chimney ? That's not a chimney. That's a 3G mobile transmitter made by a company called The Undetectables for Three here in the UK. Yes, a transmitter - who'd know ?

I've uploaded a PDF of the work done by The Undetectables when installing masts here. You can see before and after shots plus more examples of their work. However, this isn't just a "one off". Transmitters have been disguised as trees quite a bit here in the UK, however I've received this particularly good one from Egypt today. Take a look below ..

Look.. just a regular tree. Right?

Hmm.. let's get a little closer...

And a bit closer..
Look!
