Motorola Q - Yes, yet another handset!
26 Jul 2005 - Handsets (Unsorted) - By Leigh Geary

Yes, it looks like the rumours were true - a cousin to the Motorola RAZR is on the way and yes, it is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0. The Motorola Q is the "thinnest, lightest and coolest QWERTY on the planet" and is yet more fantastic news for the Windows Mobile platform. Oh, and yes - it does indeed look like this will run on Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone and not the stylus-driven Pocket PC version!

Full details of the handset can be found in the official Motorola Press Release here, plus you can get some big pictures of the device here. Expected for the first quarter of 2006, this is another attack on the Blackberry with it's MS Exchange interaction and bluetooth for those RAZRWIRE glasses and headsets. The Q has the Motorola RAZR-thin design with glowing keys plus a 1.3 mega pixel camera and flash. There's a 320 x 240 pixel screen, dual stereo-quality speakers, voice-dialing and a MiniSD card slot. Now, to give you an idea of the size of this device, the screen is exactly the same size as the new Orange SPV C550, just obviously rotated 90 degrees. Blackberry - watch out! This is a totally new breed of Smartphone!

Motorola say of the device...

"Boasting flexible mobile email featuring Microsoft’s Windows Mobile software, advanced cellular phone technology, rich multimedia capabilities and an easy-to-use one-handed navigation thumbwheel, the Moto Q is unique. An all-in-one handheld designed to deliver true seamless connectivity, the Q will help mobile professionals improve productivity through the power of seamless mobility."
