Sudoku .. what's it all about eh ? Well, som would say that it's a placement puzzle, also known as Number Place in the United States. The aim of the puzzle is to enter a number from 1 through 9 in each cell of a grid, most frequently a 9×9 grid made up of 3×3 subgrids (called "regions"), starting with various numbers given in some cells (the "givens"). Each row, column and region must contain only one instance of each number. Completing the puzzle requires patience and modest logical ability (although some puzzles can be very difficult). However, I'd say, "Something to do with numbers in boxes".
Yes, I did indeed rob the opening paragraph from Wikipedia.org :) However, if you do want to learn how it's played, there's no better place to get instructions. Now, following Carol Vodermans' publicity, Sudoku is becoming even more popular. Bryan Robson has emailed in about his Sudoku game for the
Smartphone. It's been written in C# and so requires the .Net Compact
Framework. To date he's tested it on an Orange SPV C500.
Bryan admits that it's a fairly early version, but enough to keep you amused on the way to / from work!
Both C# source code and CAB files are available at BryanRobson.net
