Touch Pro2 no longer available on Orange?
Just a couple of months ago Orange began to retail the Touch Pro2. It's a kick-ass WinMo handset with sliding QWERTY, 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS and the latest TouchFLO 3D interface. However..

It's vanished. We're unable to find the device on the business shop (where it was until recently) and Jason has emailed in to say..

"I just got off the phone with Orange Retentions and apparently they have dropped the Touch Pro2 and are no longer offering it."

Dropped? But why? It seems like the handset isn't part of the line-up at all now - there's not even an "Out Of Stock" message on the site, it's just... gone.. Sad Luckily you can get one unlocked. Let us know if you've heard anything.

gears, that's the Touch Pro that T-Mobile are selling. It's got a d-pad.

T-Mobile aren't going to carry the Pro2, if i remember correctly.

I'm cost + qwerty keyboard + Windows Mobile makes it unpopular.

It's a shame though, this probably means HTC are less likely to release an Android version.

How come you've never reviewed it Gears?

It is a really nice phone. The hardware is great and the software is at least much better than the likes of Symbian on Nokia.

Wonderful! This is pathetic really, I've spent the last month on and off the phone to Orange at various levels, being told they are getting another batch in shortly, but not sure when.

Currently still stuck using an SPV M3100 which is on it's last legs, I'm over a year beyond my last upgrade date as I'm still waiting for a suitable replacement. Was continuosly told by Orange that the Touch Pro (1) was coming soon, so I didn't go for the TyTnII as it had been out for months. It never arrived, then was told Touch Pro 2 was coming, then told I couldn't get one as I'm not on business. Have too much to loose moving to a business contract. Third party suppliers won't give me an upgrade to one, Orange lead me to believe recently that it would even come to personal contracts sometime soon. I can't believe anything they say after this if it's indeed the case.

They offer no suitable replacement for a Windows Mobile QWERTY handset now which I find astonishing.

I'm confused! I rang Orange on Friday to get this phone, and spoke to someone who said they had an internal email confirming discontinuation. I thought this person was rude and so I rang again. The phone is still on the website! http://www.business.orange.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?c=OUKPage&pagename=Business&cid=1135315302024. I'm Vat registered and was going to change my personal account to a business one. They even said I could have the phone when this was complete. I'll probably continue to use the TYTN2 I have if I cant get this phone on orange. I only considered upgrading after they suggested doing so as my contract was up. I don't think orange want to subsidise these expensive feature pda/phones any more. They want us to take cheap phones like the hero or toshiba TG01.

the touch HD is listed on that link (above) but we were never able to get it from Orange.
We ended up moving to Vodafone to get the Touch Pro2 and a better business contract.

Just phoned Orange, they wouldn't actually tell me if they could supply a TP2 in six days time when I am eligible for an upgrade. Pretty shoddy from a business account perspective, in six days time I'll be buying out my last 3 months of my contract for sure.

Only thing that has kept me at Orange for the last 6 years has been Orange Care, free on business tariffs, Voda's insurance looks comparable so I'll be off there, and they have the phone I want in the TP2.

Stuff you Orange, you couldn't care less about me or my loyalty, I'm off.
