Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact now available on Vodafone

Fancy a new handset with the Sony design skills and a 5.2″ 1080×1920 pixel screen? Want it to be dust and waterproof? Want it to measure 148 x 73.4 x 7.4 mm and weigh in at 155 g?

Sorry. I can’t help you with that.

ONLY KIDDING!

Coming equipped with Android 8.0 (Oreo) and a Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 Octa-core CPU (4×2.35 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo), this is the Sony XZ1. It’s got 64GB of storage and a microSD slot for more. It also has 4GB RAM, a 19 megapixel f/2.0 rear camera (with predictive phase detection and laser autofocus plus a flash) and a 13 megapixel front shooter. It also has stereo speakers and something called a “3.5mm audio jack” which us normal people still use.

The usual other bits are here, including WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and NFC too. We Vodafone UK have it for £32 per month with a £30 upfront cost. This includes unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and 1GB of data.

Sure, you can boost that up if you want. Voda also have their 8GB “Red Entertainment” plan with unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and either Sky Sports Mobile TV, Spotify Premium or NOW TV for 24 months. That’ll set you back £44 per month, and there’s a £10 upfront cost).

We’ve had our usual look around and found some other deals too, should you want to get this handset on other networks..
