Talk to the animals with a KYON Pet Tracker

Watching your pet from work or anywhere else is pretty simple. Just get a camera or perhaps use a spare smartphone to act as an IP camera. It’s a good way to have a quick look at your dog or cat from afar, but… wouldn’t it be good if you could tell how they’re feeling?

A new collar from KYON will notify you if your dog is barking excessively or their activity is abnormally high. This could mean that they’re scared or perhaps tearing apart the house. Then, instead of receiving complaints from the neighbours, owners can remotely send a high-frequency sound wave which is activated via a smartphone app to calm your pet pooch down.

Conversely, if they’re not moving about much while you’re at work it could mean that they’re not feeling well.

Here’s the gadget in action..

The “Home Alone” aspect is just one feature. It also has a GPS tracker, “mood sensing” technology, a temperature gauge, a water sensor and vet appointment tracker too.

The collar works over a 300 foot range by connecting to a base station, which is also used to charge. If your dog goes outside of that range then the GPS tracking kicks in and you’ll get notified via an embedded GSM module. The tracking bit is pretty clever too – it can tell how high up your dog is. Ideal if it’s inside a high building or … err… up a tree.
