Minecraft on Gear VR

Minecraft on Gear VR

Minecraft. Everyone in the world seems to be on it. It’s getting more interesting now, especially for the ones looking at a more immersive ways of playing the game. How does it sound to be in the middle of the world you’ve just built, or exploring a friend’s world in a cinema mode? Well, it’s all happening for the patriotic Samsung crowd who’ve invested in the Gear VR. Mojang has released a VR version of the Minecraft Pocket Edition on the Oculus store for Gear VR. Oddly enough the game is not available to play on the Oculus Rift. This sure has made quite a few fans mad. Oculus were quick to point out that an Oculus version is in the pipeline. The Minecraft on Gear VR version seems to have quite a few raving reviews. Obviously, there are now some very happy and some really jealous people out there. Fair enough, I guess!

The details on the Oculus store indicate all the features that are available on the normal Pocket Edition, for instance the Creative and Survival modes, skins, and multiplayer, are all available on the VR edition. You can also choose the fully immersive mode, with you being in the centre of your self-created universe – or sit back in a more cinema-style view, like on the Netflix app on Gear VR.

Has anyone had a go yet? Let us know how immersive it gets, and watch out for the sore and dizzy heads!!
