Apple refreshes iPod Touch

Apple has announced the long awaited refresh to the iPod Touch, which comes to market as the iPod Touch 6th generation.

Apple refreshes iPod Touch

It’s been a while since Apple launched the iPod Touch 5th Gen. Almost three years actually. The device had a new iPhone 5-like screen, the chipset of a iPhone 4S and a very slim form factor.

The iPod Touch 6th generation comes with the same 4″ screen of 1136×640 resolution, but vastly improved cameras and chipset. The new iPod Touch has a 64-bit A8 SoC, 8MP rear camera and an “improved FaceTime HD” camera. iOS 8 keeps things ticking, and iOS 9 will undoubtedly be on it later this year.

While the slim form factor remains unchanged the colours to choose from have had “space grey”, silver and gold added.

Here at Coolsmartphone we were surprised the new iPod Touch was not announced in tandem with Apple Music as the hardware complements the software like maybe no other device in Apple’s product portfolio.

Pricing is £159 for the 16GB model, £199 for 32GB, £249 for 64GB and £329 for 128GB. All models of iPod Touch are not expandable, so if you are purchasing one think of how much content you will want to store and take with you while offline. Orders start today.

Are you thinking of getting an iPod Touch 6th gen? Personally, I will be purchasing one as soon as John Lewis get them in stock. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
