Oppo R7 and R7 Plus Launched

The Oppo R7 has just been announced at a big company launch event. It’s powered by ColorOS 2.1 / Android 4.4 and there’s an octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU running the show with 3GB of memory.

Inside you get 16GB of storage and there’s a microSD card slot for additional space. Packing a 5″ 1080p screen it has a 92.3% “metallic ratio” on the unibody shell, which has a “velvety metallic feel” on the rear.

There’s also a 13 megapixel camera with something called “phase detection autofocus (PDAF)” and smart anti-shake optimization. Oppo are very excited about their camera technology, which delivers brighter images and laser-assisted focus. Up front, there also an 8 megapixel cam.

Whilst we’re talking about batteries, you can charge this thing quickly with the “flash charge” system that’ll deliver 2 hours of talk time after a mere 5 minutes on charge. Pretty impressive.

An R7 Plus edition will also be available. That’ll have a 6″ screen, bigger battery (4100 mAh) and it’ll put the front menu buttons into the OS.
