Nokia X Series – Hands on

Nokia X Series Hands on

Dan has already brought you lots of information into the Nokia foray into Android here but I’ve just been running around their stand to get some early hands-on video and photos for you.

What we have here is three new Android phones from Nokia. They’re colourful, a little chunky design-wise and fun to look use. The specs aren’t going to set the world alight but these are meant to fill that featurephone gap and push into those markets where price is essential.

Meet the Nokia X, X+ and XL. The latter has a 5″ 800×480 pixel screen and a 5 megapixel camera with flash plus a 2 megapixel camera up front. All three of these handsets have dual-core 1GHz CPU’s, although the one I played with (the Nokia X) did seem to lag a little.  Both the X and the X+ have 3 megapixel fixed focus shooters with the X having 512MB of RAM and the X+ getting 256MB more.

The key point here? Price. Nokia want you to have their handsets in your pockets. The Nokia X will go on sale immediately with price starting at around £74, with the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL expected to roll out in a few weeks prices at around £82 and £90 respectively (these prices are converting the Euro prices quoted to us today).
