If you’re on the Twitter beta programme (apparently our very own Ronnie is but he never knew) you’ll be getting a refreshed version of Twitter this morning. Accessing the beta programme doesn’t seem possible any more but involved you signing up to the appropriate Google group. You then grab the new Twitter beta via the Google Play beta app system. Helpfully though, someone has nabbed the APK so you can side-step the whole process here.
Twitter 5.0 for Android has a fresher UI, menu tabs and larger images. There’s also a new side-bar menu, accessible by pressing the Twitter bird icon from the top left corner of the screen. This will let you change the layout around to your own liking.
