Sony announce the DSC QX-10 and the DSC QX-100 Smart Shots

When I first saw some odd looking clip on camera lenses for phones I thought it was an elaborate hoax by someone, yeah they sounded cool and I could no doubt think up a scenario where I could use one.

Then came the leaks, we saw image after image for these lenses, then we saw some marketing material and then we saw a nice little video. Over in Berlin at IFA Sony have just announced the two Smart Shots.

How strange, the qx-100 is a big old boy yet only has the equiv of 100mm telephoto, the smaller qx-10 goes up to 250mm! £400 for the qx-100 is pretty much gonna make it dead in the water. You can get a damn good compact for that. £179 for the qx-10 isn’t too bad.
