8-inch Samsung Galaxy 3 Tablet Specs, Press Photo Leaked

8 inch Samsung Galaxy 3 Tablet Specs, Press Photo LeakedSamMobile has reportedly acquired a press photo and possible specs for an upcoming 8-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet. It looks nearly identical to the 7.0 version that was officially announced at the end of April save for a thinner bezel and a different sensor layout. The specs, if accurate, seem to be a bit beefier than the 7.0 model too.

According to the leaked specs, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will have an 8-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT screen, a dual-core SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for an extra 64 GB. There will be a 5MP camera on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, Bluetooth 4.0 and dual-band Wireless N connectivity, and a 4450 mAh battery. The dimensions will be 8.24 x 4.81 x 0.27 inches.

The specs also show that Samsung will follow the 7-inch version and launch two models: a Wi-Fi only version and a 3G model. This latter SKU will be compatible with EDGE (850/900/1800/1900), HSPA+42 Mbps, and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps (850/900/1900/2100) networks. Other specs include A-GPS and USB 2.0.

By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 will sport a 7-inch TFT screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution, a dual-core SoC clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage (depending on your budget), and a microSD card slot for adding up to 64 GB of additional storage. There will also be a 3MP camera on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, Bluetooth 4.0 and dual-band wireless N connectivity, and a 4000 mAh battery. The dimensions will be 7.40 x 4.37 x 0.39 inches.

“Its compact, one-hand grip form factor ensures users can hold comfortably for hours as well as store in a pocket or small bag for reading and entertainment on the go,” the company said. “The sleek and stylish design encompasses thinner bezel than the previous Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0).”

Samsung also said last month that the Galaxy Tab 3 7-inch Wi-Fi only version will be available globally beginning May, and then a 3G version will follow in June. The product availability varies by market and will be rolled out gradually, Samsung said. This unannounced 8-inch variant is expected to be revealed by Samsung before the end of June.
