The eagerly awaited Sony Xperia Z is starting to appear on pre-order with the various networks. Starting with Vodafone. You can pre order one in white here.

The Xperia Z is going to be one of the first available 1080p monster phones that will dominate this year. Spec wise is very top end.

The smart, sleek and durable 4G-ready Sony Xperia Z offers the best of Sony in a smartphone and is now available for pre-order from Vodafone UK, free on 24 month Vodafone Red Data price plans from £42 per month (including unlimited calls, unlimited texts, and 2GB of data). The first 1000 customers to pre-order will receive a pair of free MDR-1R Sony headphones worth £299. Their clever design and ear cup cushions help seal in the sound and eliminate creaks, for a truly superior audio experience.

The Sony Xperia Z’s visual experience is equally impressive, with its razor sharp clarity and 5” full HD Reality Display. This is further enriched by Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, delivering exceptional screen intelligence such as high quality colour management, sharpness enhancement, real-time contrast optimisation and noise reduction, while its OptiContrast panel helps eliminate reflection even in bright sunlight.

Drawing on the expertise and components used in leading Sony cameras, the Xperia Z’s 13MP fast-capture camera means you’ll never miss a moment, and features Exmor RS for mobile – the world’s first image sensor with HDR video for smartphones – so it can effortlessly capture crystal clear photos and videos even in low light conditions.

The Sony Xperia Z not only looks beautiful – with its subtly rounded edges and smooth reflective surfaces held together by an innovative skeleton frame – its super slim 7.9 mm form is tough and durable, made from glass fibre polyamide with tempered glass panels. Dust and water resistant up to 1 metre, the Xperia Z can withstand water jets and will keep going even after 30 minutes submerged under water. Combined with its anti-shatter film, the Xperia Z is tough enough to handle whatever comes its way.

I spend most of the day telling people to turn stuff off and back on again. Inbetween doing that I post news and reviews over here.

I am about to embark on a Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT self imposed restriction for a few months. Keep your eyes on the site for updates.
