Sony announce the Xperia Z tablet

By James Pearce on January 21, 2013 in Android, Sony (Android)

Since Sony announced their latest flagship phone the Xperia Z rumours have been floating around about a similarly named tablet. Sony Japan have now officially announced the Xperia Z tablet and to tell you the truth I am quite interested.

Spec wise it is no slouch offering a range of high end specs:

  • waterproof and dustproof
  • 6.9 millimeters thin
  • Weight – 495g
  • 10.1″ WUXGA  (1920×1200) display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2
  • 8.1 million pixel camera
  • Front Surround – 3D virtual surround sound
  • NFC
  • Android 4.1
  • LTE
  • Quad Core 1.5GHz Processor
  • Available in black or white
  • 32GB Internal Memory
  • 2 GB RAM

I mentioned that I’m interested in this earlier, it’s mainly because Sony seem to stripped away all of the bloat in their devices. Each generation is a step closer to being my ideal device and with this latest generation and the new “Boxy” minimal design, this might be the year I buy some Sony devices. Especially with both of them being dust and waterproof.
