Meet the Idol Ultra from Alcatel One Touch. Yes, them. Each year we see a stack of handsets from Alcatel but rarely see the handsets on the European market. If we do, they’re usually rebranded, like the Vodafone Smart II. This, the Pop Idol.. sorry, Idol Ulta is the worlds thinnest smartphone at 6.45mm. It packs a 4.7″ HD AMOLED screen, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 8 megapixel and runs Android Jelly Bean.
There’s another version too, which is simply called the “Idol” and has similar specs and is “the lightest smartphone in its category”. We’re assuming that this is a little thicker.
Alcatel One Touch have also shown off the Scribe HD, which supports 4G and has an 8 megapixel camera and a quad-core CPU. Not only that, but there’s a Scribe X handset kicking around with a 12 megapixel camera and a full 1080p HD display (1920×1080) – that’s the same as the Huawei Ascend D2 we saw earlier this week.

The ONE TOUCH Idol Ultra smartphone is the thinnest smartphone yet. The device breaks current market records at 6.45mm thin. Performance is not compromised in this design with features such as a stunning 4.7” HD AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8MP camera that captures 1080p video, and running on Android Jelly Bean.
