Is this the Galaxy SIII?

Vietnamese website posted an article and video earlier which they claimed was of a prototype Galaxy SIII. The usual “sources familiar with the matter” are saying that this is very likely to be the final spec but may not be the final exterior. Here are the potential specs.

  • HD Display (Rumours on resolution and size vary)
  • 8 megapixel camera,
  • NFC and
  • Software buttons
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 16 GB on board memory

  • 2050 mAh battery.

The video can be found below and it’s worth noting that have pulled the original article and video.

Hopefully not! I can’t be the only one thinks it’s pretty ugly. Or, if I’m being generous, bland!

Good to see onscreen buttons though. Don’t know why HTC went with hardware buttons for the X.

I don’t know what people are waiting for Samsung is going down the Apple route as its a proven way…

the new S3 will be the same as the 2 but tweaked here and there…..

why bring out a totally new design when the s2 was prefect… they just need to tweak the inners like apple did with iPhone 4 then 4s…

Once you had 2 or 3 runs with a model slightly tweaked then you bring out a totally new design .

A company would be stupid to give us all the goodies in one go !!!!

  • The thing that annoyed me (to the point of swapping it) about the s2 was the terrible sound quality through headphones, and the poor screen resolution.

The nexus S had an excellent audio chip and was brilliant with a decent set of headphones. Sammy changed the excellent wolfson chip in the galaxy s and nexus s, to a weedy Yamaha version. No amount of apps and tweaks solved it for me.

The screen was beautiful for viewing pics and video, but email/web etc was just “the same but bigger”. Poor.

The s3 looks promising. It won’t please the spec junkies, but it’ll no doubt be a solid performer. S2 camera was pretty good – hope this is even better.
