MWC – Motorola RAZR – Up close

Dan recently reviewed the Motorola RAZR but we got another good look at it here in Barcelona today. Packing a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and 1GB of RAM, it has an 8 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and 16GB of storage.

So, we wanted to know what made this phone different. Billy and Joel showed us the MotoCast feature – a way to have the pictures on your phone stored on your home PC. I’m sure most people have got into the habit of snapping thousands of photos on their phone, never to back them up and despair when the microSD card gets damaged. With MotoCast you get to move those photos to your home machine and then access them from your phone or any other web-enabled machine. If you’ve left your phone at work and want that all-important photo on your PC while you’re in a hotel, just login and it’ll show your photos and stream your video.

Motorola also showed us the rather clever Smart Actions, an app which lets you control, monitor and optimize your phone to fit your life. This is probably best explained in the video below, so click on to watch …
