XDA Premium HD app released on the Android Market

Love them or hate them, XDA Developers are a massive part of the Android community. Their forums cover hundreds of different devices and you can normally find no end of useful information, ROMs, tweaks and apps for your handset.

The forums are sometimes difficult to browse on a phone, so they released a modified version of the Tapatalk app. On a tablet this looked a little stretched out and images looked a little odd. It generally needed a proper tablet version.

Here’s that very thing, and it’s also on special offer at the moment. I normally browse XDA most days so having a dedicated app is great. One for my tablet is even better.

Here’s the marketing blurb from the Android Market…

This is the official XDA app optimized for tablets! It’s ad-free and fast, and is the best way to view and interact with the XDA forums while on your Android tablet! Get XDA Premium HD at 50% off for a limited time!

Features:

+ No annoying ads!
+ Improved tabbed-based navigation so you can easily switch between PMs, favorite forums, and more
+ Takes advantage of the higher resolution of a tablet

Please note: XDA Premium HD works best over WiFi or high speed cellular data. It will be very slow over EDGE. The first load might take the longest even if you’re on WiFi.

Q: Isn’t this just XDA Premium for phones, but stretched for tablets?
A: Yes and no. We made the navigation more intuitive for tablet devices. That said, we’re working on a version of this app that utilizes the Ice Cream Sandwich look and feel. That will be a free upgrade to this app come the spring.
