The Piel Frama is probably the Rolls Royce of phone cases. From the
very moment that you see the swish box with embossed gold lettering and logo,
you can tell it’s going to be good. This particular case was designed for the
QTek 7070 / SPV E100 (both based on the HTC Tanager) phone, so the majority of
Smartphone users can use it. It’s leather .. smell that leather! It’s like a
jacket for your phone! :)
The box itself is probably similar to a box you’d find a ring in.
Open it and you’ll find the case wrapped in green paper – again,
embossed with gold logo. Below is the contents. There’s the case itself – with small bits of cardboard to maintain shape whilst in transit (I
presume). There’s some information cards, a history of the company and – inside
the case is the clip for attaching to yourself or anything else. There’s a good video here at the Piel Frama website to show how this clip works.
After removing the cardboard pieces, you can see on the pic
below that there’s two small insets where you can put small cards or important
information to keep safe. The phone slides in from top to bottom and sits
comfortably – there’s a small leather strip across the bottom of the screen –
considering the width of this leather strip (about 2mm) it’s cut perfectly and
is smack in the right place. There’s also another strip on the top of the screen
as you can see. The case, as you’ve probably noticed by now, folds out so that
it completely wraps the phone in leather – no plastic on this at all. The case,
when closed up, shuts tight with a press-stud.
Here’s the case closed up, with the attachment on the back ready
for the clip. You can also see the holes for the volume controls and record
button, along with the SD card, which is stitched to prevent tearing.
Here’s the clip now attached – this swivels around. allowing
your phone movement. This is especially useful when walking or bending down, as
it allows the phone to swing away from your body so that it isn’t damaged.
..and here I am wearing it. You can see how the phone is
"swinging". The small button on the top is to release the clip from the side of
the case itself – don’t worry though – your phone isn’t going to drop off if you
accidentally press this, as the phone slides out upwards – it just makes
answering the call in a hurry easy.
