With only a few more days until Christmas we’ve taken a look at some of the bargain-basement Android devices costing around £100. There’s a fairly decent selection of low-priced Pay As You Go phones to choose from. Check out our selection below…
– ZTE Racer – Available from Three for £99.99 this has Android 2.1 with a 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, microSD (up to 8GB) and FM radio.
– LG GT40 – Available from Argos for £109.99 this is available on o2. Reehan Jameel emailed us to say, “I was surprised that LG had issued an Android upgrade to 2.2! Camera is a bit naff, but with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS can’t complain!”
– Orange San Francisco – Available from Orange in Grey or white for £99 (+ £10 top-up) this is a brilliant handset for the money. Check out our full review – we were pretty impressed. This handset has Android 2.1, a 3.5″ 480×800 OLED screen (although newer models now have a TFT), Bluetooth, WiFi, microSD, GPS and a 3.1 Megapixel camera.
– T-Mobile Pulse Mini – Available from T-Mobile for £79.99 this is the Huawei U8110. Inside there’s a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G / HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth, FM radio, 240×320 2.8″ QVGA screen and WiFi. You also get a 2GB memory card in the box and you can see some up-close shots in our gallery.
Our recommendation ? Get the Orange San Francisco if you can, but do let us know if there’s a good Pay As You Go handset that we’ve not covered here.
If you’ve got a bit more cash, check out the Android selection from Three, o2, Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile.
