Windows Phone 7 – Surely you can add custom ringtones?

Windows Phone 7 Surely you can add custom ringtones? Yesterday Pocketnow revealed that Windows Phone 7 doesn’t seem to allow custom ringtones. We were determined to disprove this, so I spent time digging around the OS for a way to upload your own MP3 ringtone. There’s Zune integration and wireless music sync, so there must be a way of doing it, right?

How do you do it ? Well, there’s no file explorer, so that’s not an option. How about emailing it to yourself and doing it that way? Nope, that doesn’t work either. How about through the Zune software? Click on to see what happened…

“Windows Phone 7 doesn’t seem to allow custom ringtones.” “Click on to see what happened…”

Well the video shows that YOU CANNOT GET YOUR MP3s AS RINGTONES. What a useless post Leigh Geary and waste of peoples time.

Set the MP3 genre to ‘ringtone’ and sync with Zune – then it appears under ‘ringtones’.
