Yesterday we reported on the rise and rise of Android in the USA. Stats from the NPD Group now put the Android OS ahead of the Apple OS in terms of unit share. Although these figures are based on consumer surveys, it does also show that the Windows Mobile share – in yellow here – has dropped quite significantly.
During the last year, Windows Mobile has gone from over 20% to around 10% and will no doubt fall further over the next quarter. This shows the mountain that Microsoft has to climb.
