For those hard-core tweakers out there (and we do mean hard-core, as this will probably upset your network / carrier greatly), you can now get a custom HTC Hero ROM from MoDaCo. It’s an updated version of the ROM (1.79.482.3) which makes it as quick as the updated version we saw last week, plus there’s a host of geeky extras.
To flash your Hero with ROMs and Radios you’ll need use the custom recovery image and then just dump the Zip files to your SD card and update with the new patched image.
A word of warning though. If you’ve just got your Hero and you’re happy with it, don’t do anything. Wait for the official updates to come along shortly – this really is for a select few tweakers. Don’t come running to me with your all-new Hero saying, “It’s broke, Gov”..
