It’s been nearly 6 months since we first started seeing Microsoft re-branding a Windows Mobile phone as simply a “Windows Phone” and now The Inquirer has picked up on this old news too. Microsoft mentioned yet again, this time in a promotional event to show upcoming products, that they will simplify the naming convention to be just a “Windows Phone”.
We’ve already seen the Microsoft strategy change in earlier ad campaigns but we have to ask, does anyone really know it’s a Windows Phone any more? I’m finding more and more people wanting “A HTC phone” instead.
