DECT Approved in USA

Last month there were lots of news stories coming out of telecoms show “CES”, however you may have missed one rather surprising announcement. Unbelievable yet true, the DECT standard has only just been approved in the USA. Approved late last year by the FCC it’s only now that DECT cordless handsets are coming out in the USA. The technology itself has been widely used for around a decade here in Europe and is now accelerating even further to bridge the distinct gap in connectivity with Wireless VoIP handsets, which have less range.
