Orange has revealed their Windows Mobile 5.0 plans in this Microsoft.com press release. It seems that they’ll probably be introducing them in new devices, and you won’t be able to upgrade your existing phone to this new OS.
Florian Seiche, Director of Devices @ Orange said….
“Orange is looking forward to launching the new Windows Mobile platform across a range of attractive devices in 2005. The key benefits to customers and to Orange will be an enhanced phone experience, increased customisation possibilities, as well as improved overall performance.”
This is pretty much expected as we’ve rarely seen a complete OS upgrade available for any Windows Mobile phone on any network – only normal patches and updates.
