The Smartphone in the USA

The Smartphone in the USA While Europe and Asia happily play around with MS-based Smartphones, there’s a little place called America that is yet to see them. Whilst the Smartphone has popped its head up on everlinkwireless.com (the Red e SC1100), the USA hasn’t really seen a Smartphone on widespread sale. However, news from msmobiles.com shows that Nextel Communications will be shortly teaming up with Motorola (who are / were rumoured to be using the Chi Mei model for their Smartphone handset) for their iDEN network.

Nextel has a large user-base, mostly enterprise customers, and although they do want to use a “Windows CE based operating system” for their Smartphone, they haven’t stated which one – Smartphone 2002, Windows Mobile 2003… etc..
